Hi Gang, If there's such a thing as being under a hex I am. I was already in the midst of a bad week last week when my house caught on fire. Yep, you heard me right. Last Sunday we had a fire going in the fireplace and a fire started between the walls. Our house is like 50 years old so it turns out it wasn't constructed correctly. Now I've lived in this house 5 years and have had fires every winter, but I guess this time it decided to take the wall with it. The bummer part is the wall between the fireplace and the living room is my office so my computer equipment took the brunt of everything. Luckily we the fire department got it under control quickly before the whole damn house burned down but we still had a lot of soot and smoke damage. My "Significant Other" is very sensitive to smells so we've been staying at a Motel this past week. Now you might think that would bring out some passion but the dog has been sleeping between us with his head on the pillow so not a whole lot going on there. As most of you know I have two dogs, Teddy Bear and Dakota so I had to find a pet friendly motel. The Internet made it simple and there really are a lot of places where your pets are now welcome. Surprising, but true. I think we'd of enjoyed it more if I could have left them at home, but I don't think all this fire and smoke smell is good for them either. To top it off I've had fire cleaning people here everyday this week from 9 to 4 cleaning all of my contents and packing it up. My life is now stored in cardboard boxes in the garage. Good luck trying to find anything. I still have to have carpenters come in and rebuild the walls and the roof where the Firemen axed thru the ceiling. Personally, I think they get a little crazy with the axes. Maybe it was training day. If you would have seen the amount of Gatorade they went through you would have thought they were major sports athletes or something. There is a funny part to the whole story. I was at work when the fire started so Jim, my boyfriend left me a voice mail at work saying "the house is on fire do you need anything". Now what kind of message is that? If you knew Jim, he's always pretty calm and it takes a whole lot to get him upset but I really would have appreciated a little more information in the message. I hung up and said "Oh my God my house is on fire. I gotta go!" Needless to say by the time I got home there were 5 fire trucks in front of my house and I was a bit crazy. To sum it up it could have been much worse then it was and for that I am grateful.
